The MV Lady Chelmsford started life as a Sydney Ferry, but for more than 20 years has been plying the waters of Melbourne as a popular cruising restaurant, often accompanied by the sounds of a jazz band, or the dulcet tones of a Dean Martin sound-alike crooner providing pleasure to many thousands of passengers.

The Showboat Cruising Restaurant, the Lady Chelmsford, has been on sick leave undergoing painstaking restoration. But sadly, on the 18th of February she quietly sank at her mooring, watched by guests arriving at a function on central pier, docklands.
